Wheel e-Consultation:About
From Wheel e-Consultation
The Wheel is a support and representative body connecting Community and Voluntary (CV) organisations across Ireland. Established six years ago with a mandate from over 200 organisations and individuals, The Wheel has evolved to become a resource centre and forum for the CV sector.
The Wheel's objective for this eConsultation is to hear your views on Active Citizenship in light of the recent governments announcement of the Terms of Reference for the soon to be established Task fForce on Active Citizenship. We want to hear your thoughts on what The State can do to help and support people in becoming Active Citizens.
This project forms part of a larger body of work on e-consultation. The e-consultation research project is a collaborative research project between Queens University Belfast, the National Institute of Regional and Spatial Analysis NUI Maynooth, and Letterkenny Institute of Technology.
E-consultation is the use of electronic computing and communication technologies in consultation processes and is complimentary to existing practices. The objective of the research overall is to identify the technologies and processes that are most appropriate to the needs of diverse local communities.
The e-consultation research project is working with The Wheel specifically on the subject of Active Citizenship. The Wheel will be responsible for feeding back any findings on the topic of Active citizenship that arise out of the consultation depending on the rate of participation.
Findings on the e-consultation project generally are ongoing and will culminate in a report. Individuals and or organisations who participate can indicate that they wish their contributions and or names to be acknowledged in the final report.
